
Jurjen Pen LL.M. has been a lawyer since 1977 and in 1984 was co-founder of De Roos & Pen (together with, among others, Ms Mannheims LL.M.). Pen is known as a socially critical lawyer and in the past defended demonstrators, conscientious objectors and peace activists. Currently he focuses mainly on legal assistance in complex fraud cases, economic and environmental criminal law and financial criminal law. He has great experience in high-profile criminal cases against captains of industry and wealthy individuals. Additionally he is recognised as an expert in the field of Criminal Intelligence Unit issues (CIE), witness protection programmes and police cases. Pen was and is involved as a counsel in a large number of prominent fraud cases such as the TCR case, the ‘Clickfonds’ case, the Construction Fraud (‘Bouwfraude’) and the Real Estate Fraud (‘Vastgoedfraude’). He particularly assists companies and financial institutions and their directors. He is in great demand as a lecturer, both for courses for the Bar and the judiciary as well as for the police.
