Lydia Backx, LL.M. specializes in national and international financial-economic and criminal tax law, corporate and white collar crime. Her work includes advice on compliance, financial supervision and market abuse. She mainly represents and assists companies and its managers facing criminal investigations or prosecutions. Furthermore, she has broad experience with conducting internal investigations for financial institutions such as banks, trust offices and investment companies.

Besides her activities as an attorney, Lydia used to work as an academic staff member at the Tilburg University Criminal Law Faculty. Currently, she is a guest lecturer of financial-economic criminal law at the VU University Amsterdam, editor for the section financial-economic criminal law in the legal journal Delikt en Delinkwent and co-author of the handbook on social-economic law.
